The Cougars were outplayed in Tulsa on February 11th, getting thumped by the Golden Hurricane, 72-48, in C-USA action. Houston kept it close, behind only 26-22 at halftime, but came back out flat and handed it away at the end.

Tulsa took control of rebounding and free throw shooting. Tulsa created many more second chance opportunities with a total of 35 rebounds to only 22 by Houston. The Golden Hurricane beat the Cougars at the charity stripe, 18 points to nine. A big issue for Houston was its 48 points. This came in way below its season average of 72.5.

A couple facts coming into the game: Tulsa had a much better RPI ranking than Houston, #109 to #250. The Cougars don't play that well on the road, and the Golden Hurricane were rolling, having won 4 of their last 5. This creates a regular season split between the teams, as the Cougars beat the Golden Hurricane earlier this season, 70-69.

Joseph Young and Jonathon Simmons led the Cougars scoring, each with 13 points.
